The HeimatERBE GmbH team has found its ideal entrepreneurial home at the UNESCO Zollverein World Heritage Site. The former coal mine and coking plant site has been a World Heritage Site since 2001, and its characteristic winding tower has become a symbol of structural change in the Ruhr region. In the existing industrial architecture and in new buildings with high sustainability standards, companies from business, science and culture form HeimatERBE’s new neighborhood. In the Zollverein Park, more than 700 plant and animal species have returned to their natural habitats since the shutdown. Thus, Zollverein’s industrial nature is a appropriate place for a vivid visualization of an ecological future and a perfect ecosystem for our holistic and curative compensation approach.
